This course is designed to give students the skills they will need to move onto the higher level of training to become a plumber or get employment as a trainee plumber. They will cover the theory and practical aspects of: Safety; Key plumbing processes; Common plumbing processes; Cold water systems; Domestic water systems; Sanitation systems; Central heating systems (pipework only); Electrical supply and earth continuity; Sheet lead weathering; Environmental awareness; Effective working relationships. Progression is to NVQ Level 2 Plumbing.

Assessment method
Students will be continually assessed on each module and will do various practical assessments, as well as presenting a ‘portfolio of evidence’. There are 11 examinations sat throughout the course duration plus an end City & Guilds examination.

Entry Requirements
Level 1 National Award in Plumbing or candidates will be considered who can provide evidence of work experience.
