Course info
This course is for people who wish to find employment within a range of health and social care settings. It is equivalent to 3 A Levels. The course aims to develop the general skills, knowledge and understanding that underpins caring. In addition it incorporates Key Skills of Communication, Application of Number and Information Technology. Students may progress onto a degree or diploma in nursing, social work, degree and social sciences. Alternatively you may wish to start work in residential care, health care or community work. The qualification can also lead to the more specialized qualifications in care related areas.

Assessment method
Assessment is through both assignment work and placement competencies using a variety of methods such as portfolio work and placement activities.

Entry Requirements
Students will need a minimum 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C including English or BTEC First Diploma with Merit including two units with Distinction and either GCSE English at grade A*-C or full Level 2 Key Skills in Communication. To take part inplacement activities you will need to have a CRB check.
