This course will give students basic Sound Engineering and DJ skills, and get them thinking about possible careers in the Music and Creative Industries. It is ideal for those with little or no experience in Music Technology and few or no previous qualifications. It will introduce them to Music Technology and also build their Basic Skills to get them ready for a more advanced course or to give them vital skills for the workplace. Progression is to First Diploma in Music Technology or Employment.

Assessment method
Students will need to complete some coursework, to deadlines, in their own time. This is a vital skill for SoundEngineers. The course is part practical and part theory. Tutors will observe the student's practical skills, such as DJing, and mark their written projects.

Entry Requirements
Apart from an interest in the subject, students will need a willingness to learn, basic problem solving skills and the ability to work in groups.
