This is a nationally recognised course for musicians who want a basic introduction to the contemporary music scene. Students will develop their practical skills as an individual musician and also as a member of a band. They will be introduced to other aspects of the music industry by performing at college gigs. They will cover band and instrumental skills, music technology, music theory and harmony, history of music and the music business. On completion of this course, students will progress to Contemporary Popular Music Stage 2 or BTEC First Diploma in Music.
